FLIGHT STORY

FLIGHT...forming, transitioning, soaring. This Flight suggests a powerful journey. Dense with loyal committed energy the destination appears clear. Yet maybe it isn’t the destination that is clear. Maybe powerful energy rests in the fleeting moment. And the next fleeting moment. And the next. 

Like life itself, Flight may invoke feelings of safety and form or risk and chaos. Royal and slate blues intermingled with deep purple provide the backdrop for the irregular criss-crossing pattern in the foreground.

Gazing at the painting Flight when placed horizontally, it is not surprising that many of us witness the movement of birds in organized logical formation. Placed vertically, I am struck with feelings of purposeless floating chaos. I love the way the non-representational-ness invites the viewer to discover his or her own experience!
